Inside of the Elves' Workshop at Montgomery's Village Hall, Montgomery resident Theresa Barak explained just how much her daughter, Brianna and Eliana, wanted to see Santa Claus.
"They love it, they actually gave up seeing 'Frozen 2' to go see Santa," Barak said. "We were like, 'Would you rather do this?' just to see if they really wanted to go...They were like, 'I'd rather just see Santa.'"
The Baraks and many other families filled Montgomery's Village Hall Sunday evening, Dec. 1, to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus after they arrived on a fire truck, pausing outside to light the village's Christmas tree.
Inside, the line for Santa wrapped through the halls and down a flight of stairs, through a display of Christmas trees decorated by area groups and businesses, past performers from Oswego East High School's Tri-M Music Honor Society and over to Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Montgomery resident Eric Pereira, who came with his wife and children for the first time, praised the event, and even got to visit with Santa after his children.
"All parents know Santa. I tell my kids all the time, 'Once you become a parent, then you can talk to Santa'," he joked.
