This afternoon will bring the first day of the Streator Bulldogs Virtual Basketball Camps, moved online instead of in-person due to efforts to contain the novel coronavirus.

The camp is free and still accepting young basketball players via email ASAP to before the start of camp this afternoon.

The camps — which focus on fundamentals and is open to boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade — consist of four online Zoom sessions with Streator High School head boys basketball coach Beau Doty. The link will be sent out after registration. Campers will need an open space, such as a driveway or park, a basketball or two, a laptop or phone with Zoom capability, two cones or water bottles and, if possible, a basketball hoop.

Kindergarten through third-grade camp will run 2:30-3:15 p.m.; with fourth-through eighth-grade camp running 3:30-4:30 p.m.
