There were 21 new cases of coronavirus reported Monday: 13 in Ogle, four in Whiteside and four in Lee counties.
That might seem like a large 1-day spike, but because of the holiday last week, Lee, Ogle and Carroll have not reported since Thursday.
In Lee County, one case was a child between 5 and 10, another was a person in his or her late teens, and two people in their 30s. The county totals 102 cases, one death and 94 recoveries.
The Whiteside County cases are individuals in their 20s and 40s as well as two in their 30s, totaling 202 cases with 15 deaths and 147 recoveries.
Ogle County has 290 cases, 238 recoveries and four deaths.
Statewide, there were 614 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease including 6 deaths, totaling 147,865 cases, including 7,026 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. The preliminary 7-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 29 to July 5 is 2.6%.
