The McHenry County Department of Health on Friday reported 25 new cases of the novel coronavirus and one additional death. That brings countywide totals to 1,982 confirmed cases and 96 related deaths. According to the MCDH, the death reported Friday evening was a man in his 50s.

The state moved into Phase 4 of Gov. JB Pritzker’s Restore Illinois plan Friday, meaning local restaurants can reopen for indoor dining and other businesses such as movie theaters, health centers, gyms, museums and zoos can resume operations, all with capacity limits.

The county currently is reporting a 93% recovery rate, which represents the percentage of people diagnosed with COVID-19 who were reported to be alive more than 42 days after testing positive. According to the MCDH, asymptomatic cases are excluded from the calculation of the county’s recovery rate.

On Friday, the Lake County Health Department reported a total of 9,561 confirmed cases and 382 deaths.

Kane County has a total of 7,638 confirmed cases and 262 deaths, according to the Kane County Health Department.

Among McHenry County ZIP codes, Woodstock (60098) has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases with 334, followed closely by Crystal Lake (60014) with 305.
