KANE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 154 cases of COVID-19 in Kane County on Friday and 7 additional deaths, which include 1 female 50s, 1 male 50s, 1 male 60s, 2 females 70s, 1 male 80s and 1 female 90s.

The IDPH website did not give an updated number of cases on Thursday, so the 154 new cases could represent a two-day total number of newly reported cases.

State health officials also announced 1,156 new cases of the virus and 59 additional deaths statewide on Friday. Illinois now has 125,915 cases and 5,795 deaths. Laboratories reported 18,903 tests in the past 24 hours, while just over 1,000,000 people have been tested in the state since the outbreak began.

The state's rolling positivity rate as of Friday afternoon remained 6%, according to the IDPH.
