The Kendall County Fair Board has announced this year's Kendall County Fair has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fair had been scheduled to take place July 30-Aug. 2 at the fairgrounds on Route 71 west of Route 47 near Yorkville.

The Fair Board announced their decision in a post on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon. The post reads as follows:

"Here at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, the highlight of our year is the annual #kendallcountyfair. The togetherness, the community, the food and fun - all of it is our favorite! This year was to be no different.

"However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and phased guidelines from Governor Pritzker and local health officials regarding social distancing, careful monitoring of the situation has taken place and difficult challenges have been faced. After careful consideration of all aspects of the Kendall County Fair - from Livestock exhibitions, to food and commercial vending, and crowd control - the Kendall County Fair Board has decided that it would be in everyone’s best interest to postpone the Fair until July 29 - August 1, 2021.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this decision, please contact our office at 630-553-2860 or office.kcf@gmail.com."
