KANE COUNTY – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 63 additional cases of COVID-19 in Kane County on Tuesday, which continues a decrease in daily cases. Health officials also reported 8 deaths in the county. The deaths are 1 male 40s, 1 male 60s, 2 females 70s, 1 male 70s, 2 females 80s and 1 male 90s.

Kane County now has 6,467 cases and 186 deaths, according to IDPH.

State health officials also announced 1,614 new cases of the virus and 113 additional deaths statewide on Tuesday. Illinois now has 122,848 cases and 5,525 deaths. Laboratories reported 16,431 tests in the past 24 hours.

The state's rolling positivity rate as of Tuesday afternoon went up slightly to 7%, according to the IDPH.
