Guests line up outside the Midway Drive-In at 912 Palmyra Road tonight, waiting to get in to see the season's opening night shows – "Grease" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," which owner Mike Kerz said he chose because of their ties to Illinois. "Grease" is based on the musical set in Chicago, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off is about three friends who go to a game at Wrigley Field and crash the Von Stueben Day Parade. The historic outdoor theater just northeast of Sterling turns 70 this year, opened to a sold out crowd of 200 vehicles.
