Health officials reported 155 more COVID-19 cases in Will County on Friday.

The new cases brought the total in the county to 4,966, according to the Will County Health Department.

The health department also reported three additional deaths due to the disease.

Among those who died were two men in their 50s and a woman in her 90s. Those deaths brought the total in Will County to 255.

Residents age 60 and up make up the vast majority, about 87%, of those who've died from COVID-19 in Will County, according to health department data.

Patients in long term care facilities make up about half of the COVID-19 deaths in Will County, according to Illinois Department of Public Health data.

The IDPH also reported 2,758 new cases of COVID-19 and 110 additional deaths from the disease throughout the state on Friday.

The new cases brought the total in Illinois to 105,444 confirmed cases in 100 counties. In total, 4,715 people have died from COVID-19 in Illinois as of Friday, according to the IDPH.

Between Thursday and Friday, 25,113 tests for COVID-19 were processed in Illinois.
