The number of active local cases of the COVID-19 virus continues to decline, as nearly twice as many recoveries than new cases were announced Friday

Only 150 documented cases in Whiteside, Lee, Ogle and Carroll counties are active out of 417; there are 253 recoveries, and the death count sits at 14.

Whiteside and Ogle counties each announced nine recoveries Friday. Whiteside, which also has two new cases, now has 133 cases, with 38 active and 86 recoveries. Ogle announced eight new cases, increasing its total to 192; 132 people have recovered and 60 cases still are active.

Lee County added one new recovery to its tally of 25; there are 79 cases, 54 of which are active.

Carroll County has 13 cases, the more recent was announced on Sunday.

Statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health are provided for municipalities by ZIP code, if it has more than five cases.

According to that data, there are 64 cases out of 383 tests in Sterling, 63 out of 804 in Dixon, 29 out of 236 in Rock Falls, 120 out of 925 in Rochelle, 21 out of 106 in Fulton, 10 out of 79 in Polo, nine out of 159 in Oregon, seven out of 127 in Morrison, and seven out of 123 in Mt. Morris.
