MILLINGTON – A driver reportedly caused criminal damage to a Kendall County cemetery on Sunday, May 3, according to law enforcement.
Kendall County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call at 10:17 a.m. Sunday, May 3 for a reported criminal damage to property offense that occurred at the Millington Newark Cemetery, 801 S. Church St., according to a Monday news release from the sheriff's office.
Sheriff's officials said in the Monday release the investigation revealed that a subject drove off of the road intentionally, which caused extensive damage to the lawn on the east side of the property.
There was no mention in the news release about any citations or arrests made in connection with the incident. There have been no arrests recorded at the Kendall County Jail between May 1 and 3, according to booking records.
Sheriff's officials said in the Monday news release the investigation continues.
