SPRING VALLEY — Until further notice, in order to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and take proper precautions, the Spring Valley City Clerk’s office will not be accepting any walk-in payments. They ask that water bill payments be mailed, put in the drop box or through online bill pay through a financial institution.

To set up automatic withdrawal from an account, contact the office at 815-664-4221 for information and assistance.

Until further notice, they will not assess penalties on late utility bills or be disconnecting water service (although past-due balances will remain on an account). They do ask that you contact the office to make payment arrangements if you are unable to pay by any of the above-mentioned methods.

To start or stop water service, or if you have any other questions, contact the office at 815-664-4221 and leave a message. Messages will be checked periodically, and someone will return a call as soon as possible.

The garbage schedule will remain the same, though bulk items and yard waste have been suspended at this time. Regular garbage should be placed in garbage bags then placed in cans.

In case of an emergency, contact the police department at 815-664-2351.
