STERLING – Wahl Clipper is trimming its way into the final four of the Illinois Manufacturers' Association’s first “Makers Madness” online contest.

The contest is to find out what the “Coolest Thing Made in Illinois” is.

Wahl’s clippers used for personal and pet grooming are competing among Beer Nuts from Bloomington, Caterpillar’s 797F large mining truck from Decatur, and the functional hand made in suburban Elmhurst.

Nearly 260 unique products made in Illinois were nominated for the bracket-style tournament, including products from Facemakers in Savanna and Blount’s Woods Equipment in Oregon.

Voting ends Sunday. The winner will be named in an awards ceremony April 1 at the Governor's Mansion in Springfield.
