One person was transported to a hospital in Rockford following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Harvard early Wednesday morning.

Fire Chief Thomas Linneman of the Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District said crews were dispatched at 5:15 a.m. for a rollover with entrapment at O’Brien Road and Fink Road, which is a Harvard address in rural Alden Township.

He said it appears the vehicle went 150 feet off the road into a field. The cause of the crash was not immediately available. Crews extricated the patient, who was transported by ambulance to Javon Bea-Riverside Hospital in Rockford. The patient was injured but stable by the time the patient was sent to the hospital, Linneman said.

There was only person in the car at the time of the crash. Along with the Hebron-Alden-Greenwood-Fire Protection District, firefighters from Woodstock and Harvard also responded to the crash, as well as a field physician from Mercyhealth. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was also out doing an investigation of the incident, Linneman said.
