Former Marmion standout offensive lineman Graham Glasgow has reportedly earned a hefty pay day in the NFL.
Glasgow, who played collegiately at Michigan and was a third-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2016 – has agreed to a four-year contract with the Denver Broncos, as first reported by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Monday.
Per Schefter, Glasgow signed a four-year, $44 million contract with $26 million guaranteed.
The Broncos are unable to make the acquisition official, pending a confirmed passed physical, despite the new league year officially beginning Wednesday.
Glasgow, in an interview Monday with KOA 850 AM sports radio in Denver shortly after the news broke, told the show he was "elated."
"This has been an awesome...six hours [into the unofficial start of free agency] and I'm really, really happy," Glasgow said.
Glasgow wasn't immediately sure on where on the offensive line he'll play, but he said "I'm ready to play whatever [the Broncos] want."
Glasgow told the show he "had a few other teams" in the mix, but Denver ultimately proved to be the destination he wanted to land.
"This was a place that I really wanted to go to," Glasgow said. "When [the Lions] played [Denver] last year, I thought that the stadium was awesome. I thought the energy of the stadium was really, really cool."
"It's a place that I didn't know that I wanted to play," Glasgow continued. "But, I'm really looking forward to calling this place home."
Glasgow started 58 of 62 career games in four seasons in Detroit, making starts at center, left guard and right guard. In 2019, Glasgow started all 15 games he appeared in, and was only whistled for three total penalties, per Pro-Football-Reference.com.
Glasgow, a 2019 Marmion Hall of Fame inductee, was a team captain on the Cadets' 2010 state runner-up team. Glasgow walked-on at Michigan in 2011, where he redshirted his freshman season. The 6-foot-6, 310-pounder eventually made 37 starts and appeared in 42 career games. Glasgow was a 2015 All Big 10 honorable mention.
Graham Glasgow is among a strong lineage of Glasgows – all former Cadets and walk-ons in Ann Arbor.
Ryan Glasgow is a 2017 fourth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals. He's made three starts on the defensive line in 24 career games.
Jordan Glasgow, a 2015 Marmion graduate, finished his fifth season of collegiate eligibility at Michigan this past season. Jordan Glasgow made 13 starts at linebacker for the Wolverines, making 89 tackles, seven for-loss with five sacks.
