MAGNOLIA — A 17-year-old passenger from Seneca was transported to St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria after a two-vehicle crash that resulted in the closure of Route 18 between Henry and Magnolia in Magnolia Township after 1 p.m. Saturday, according to Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. A condition report was unavailable this morning, since the name was not released.
A vehicle driven by Aryanna M. Hamby, 19, of Lacon was westbound on Route 18 when it left its lane of travel and entered the eastbound lane, colliding with a vehicle driven by Sharona B. Ellis, 38, of Lostant, according to the sheriff’s office. Hamby was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, the sheriff’s office reported. Hamby had three passengers, two of whom were uninjured, according to the report. Hamby was transported to St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley, and Ellis was transported to Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Henry Fire Department and ambulance, Magnolia Fire Department, PCEMS and Henry Ambulance assisted.
