The Indian Valley Community Band will present a holiday concert at 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at the Sandwich Opera House.

A Winter/Holiday Concert performed by Indian Valley Community Band will again benefit the Franklin Mall Christmas Project.

The concert will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at the historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in downtown Sandwich. The Opera House is handicapped-accessible, with a ramp on the west side of the front door and an elevator to the seating area and stage.

The program is composed of several new pieces never before performed by the band, including “Merry Christmas Darling” that was recorded by The Carpenters and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” that was recorded by Mannheim Steamroller.

The public is invited to the concert and there is no admission charge, but nonperishable food items or monetary donations will be accepted at the door for the Franklin Mall Christmas Project, a food drive started nearly 60 years ago by the late Frankie and Peg Mall of Sandwich. It is now directed by the Sandwich Lions Club, with donations and assistance from area residents.

Attendees will be treated to a punch-and-cookie reception after the concert.
