Dr. Imran Qureshi of Plainfield returned from Freeport, Bahamas after performing medical relief work for victims of Hurricane Dorian.

Bahamian authorities identified radiology as an urgent medical need and Dr. Qureshi, a radiologist with Valley Imaging Consultants LLC, in Aurotra, stepped up to the plate, assisting with a backlog of CT scans at a field hospital next to a local hospital that was closed due to the storm.

The team had to manually type reports, which can slow things down.

Qureshi has also performed medical relief work in Gaza, Haiti, and Bangladesh.

The medical mission was organized by the Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA).
